UN reports Israeli cross-borders in September
The High Commissioner for Human Rights reported documenting approximately 280 Israeli military incursions into Syrian territory during September, marking the highest monthly number since the beginning of the year. These raids included the destruction of homes, arrests, and restrictions on movement, with reports indicating that detainees are subjected to ill-treatment and torture. Israel continues to hold at least 49 Syrians, and these operations are contributing to a deterioration in civilian lives, with one person injured and another killed in Quneitra. International calls are mounting for investigations and an end to these practices. The incursions persist in the rural areas of Damascus, Daraa, and Quneitra, while Damascus is demanding Israel withdraw from the buffer zone in accordance with the 1974 Agreement. Tensions along the Syrian-Israeli border are escalating.
