Ex-Biden official blames Netanyahu for hostage delays
The article addressed allegations made by a former official in President Biden's administration, accusing Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of sabotaging the hostage deal in July 2024 and prolonging the Gaza war by an additional six months. It explained that Netanyahu rejected a treaty that would have led to the release of the hostages and a reduction in the war’s duration, due to additional conditions he imposed contrary to security advice, which resulted in the deaths of approximately 9,000 Palestinians and the captivity of more hostages. The official also criticized Netanyahu’s wartime management approach and its negative impact on relations with the United States, emphasizing that there is no justification for Netanyahu’s behavior, and that his policies have been disastrous, leading to Israel’s isolation and weakened security.
