Dzhahr al-Bidour Explosives and State Sovereignty
The news highlights the seizure of half a ton of explosives and highly lethal materials in Lebanon, and the dismantling of a criminal network linked to partisan and militia groups. Initial investigations reveal that the shipments were received in Baalbek and sent to locations within the security zone in the southern suburb. The quantities exceed 500 kilograms and include materials such as TNT and C4, along with metal containers, thousands of nails, and steel balls, all intended to carry out massacres and terrorist attacks. Questions are raised about the capability of the military judiciary to complete the investigations and identify those involved, especially given the recent release of some members after paying insignificant sums of money. This comes amidst indications of an attempt to incite internal strife and cover up the deteriorating security situation both locally and regionally.
