Constitutional Council rules on amnesty law
The European Union Council has reached a final decision regarding the support mission designated for Lebanon. It was announced that the mandate of the EU mission will initially last for up to three years. An official decision has been issued, including the establishment of the mission and confirming that its implementation has become effective following the Court of Constitutional Justice's response to the legal challenge, with some provisions of the general amnesty law being partially invalidated and explanatory interpretations added. This mission aims to provide economic and political support to Lebanon. The decision comes as part of the EU’s efforts to support the country’s stability and necessary reforms.
