Explosion during school trip causes casualties
An explosion occurred along the northern border of Israel during a school trip, resulting in the death of an Israeli and the injury of approximately 20 people, including critical condition and severe wounds. The incident was caused by an explosion of unexploded ammunition near the Metzpeh B'yir area, where students and teachers from a religious school were participating in an annual trip. Israeli rescue and military teams responded quickly, dispatching 14 ambulances and three military helicopters. Investigations are underway to determine the circumstances of the incident, with initial reports indicating that one student had brought war remnants in his bag, which led to the explosion. Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu confirmed that the situation is under continuous assessment and emphasized the need to evacuate the injured to hospitals as quickly as possible.
