European intel warns of Russian plots against defense officials
European intelligence agencies have warned of increasing attempts by Russian agencies to target executives in European defense industries, aiming to weaken Europe's support for Ukraine and to intensify pressure on arms and military technology suppliers. Reports indicate that Moscow is expanding its sabotage and hybrid operations within Europe, focusing on targeting individuals in the defense sector, including officials at smaller companies specializing in drone manufacturing and drone components. It is believed that Russian intelligence agencies are cooperating with criminal networks and employing advanced techniques, while enhancing security measures to protect officials, as certain threats may cause officials involved with Ukraine to hesitate. Moscow's efforts include carrying out sabotage operations and threats that could escalate to assassination attempts, similar to a previous failed attempt to assassinate a German company CEO.
