FIFA faces new financial scandal
Financial reports have revealed that Gianni Infantino, the President of FIFA, received an additional amount of $1.76 million in 2024 from FWC2026 US Inc, the organization responsible for the 2026 World Cup in the United States. This amount was not disclosed in the federation's official report. The total of undisclosed payments amounts to approximately £3.88 million, raising concerns about transparency and financial disclosure. Former officials have called for an independent investigation to determine FIFA’s compliance with disclosure policies, especially since these payments may continue over the next two years without the final amount being revealed. The investigations also addressed Infantino's expenses for staying in Miami, where he rented a luxury property, though there is no evidence linking those expenses to the undisclosed funds.
