Patriarch Rahi starts historic Greece visit
The article discusses Patriarch Mar Beshara Peter Rai’s visit to Greece, which is the first official visit by a Maronite patriarch to the country. The visit is scheduled from October 15 to October 19. It includes three main aspects: a religious pilgrimage to Thessaloniki and Mount Athos, where he will meet with the heads of the monasteries on Mount Athos; an episcopal dimension through a meeting with Archbishop Ieronymos of Greece; and an ecumenical component involving a Mass for Maronites in Greece and Maronite institutions. Additionally, there will be cultural activities and visits to religious and historical sites. The goal of the visit is to strengthen spiritual, ecumenical, and cultural ties among the communities, culminating in a meeting with members of the Greek Parliament.
