WFP halts aid for 800,000 Yemenis
The World Food Programme announced a cutoff of aid to 800,000 people in Yemen, most of whom are in the city of Taiz, due to the escalation of conflict and increasingly strict access restrictions. They explained that ongoing fighting and road closures hinder the delivery of assistance and threaten the depletion of wheat stockpiles, with over 200,000 women and children among the beneficiaries. These disruptions affect the largest number of internally displaced persons in Yemen, especially in Taiz, which is the third-largest city in the country.
