Al-Khazin endorses extending UNIFIL mission
A former minister supports the statements emphasizing the necessity of maintaining UNIFIL troops in southern Lebanon, deeming their mission vital for national security amid clashes with Israel and the occupation of Lebanese territories. He stresses that a withdrawal of international forces before Israel's retreat and the cessation of Lebanese Army expansion could create a dangerous security void, necessitating efforts to strengthen stability and protect civilians. He calls on Lebanon to support the Security Council in extending UNIFIL's mandate, while highlighting the importance of enhancing the Lebanese Army's role and respecting national sovereignty to achieve security in the region.
