Preliminary OK for Al-Dawq and Al-Jiyah factories
Initial approval has been given to restart the Touk and Jiyah power plants, which have been offline for nearly two years, according to the Lebanon Electricity Company. This comes after the Board of Directors' approval, pending the resolution of judicial disputes and the necessary technical inspections. The reactivation, which depends on the availability of fuel oil, is expected to increase electricity supply by about two hours per day for up to two months, adding approximately 300 MW to the grid. However, implementation depends on addressing judicial and technical obstacles, while awaiting the final legal procedures to complete the process.
