Israel warns of suburb evacuation and displacing Lebanese Shiites
Israel is threatening to evacuate the southern suburb of Beirut and to displace more than a million Lebanese Shia if Hezbollah joins any potential Iranian attack against Israel. Israeli Defense Minister Naftali Bennett has vowed to launch a harsh strike against the group and to expand military control in the south, warning that more than a million Shia could become displaced within Lebanon. This comes amid increasing tensions between Israel and Hezbollah, as Israel places great importance on deterring the group and preventing potential Iranian interventions that could threaten Israeli security, with no clear signs of imminent military action so far.
