Ilhan Omar's Passport Confiscation Reports
Reports indicate that U.S. authorities are investigating Representative Ilhan Omar, confiscating her passport and phone as part of inquiries related to her immigration paperwork. The investigation includes issuing subpoenas to her relatives and gathering evidence in Minnesota, with the aim of building a legal case to revoke her U.S. citizenship and deport her, based on suspicions regarding her citizenship acquisition and related immigration procedures for her family. Omar has stated that the actions are politically motivated against her, while the U.S. government denies having any evidence of wrongdoing. The investigations come amid a broader campaign focusing on immigration issues and financial disclosures, amid concerns that the investigations are being used as a tool for political pressure ahead of the elections.
