Contractors Committee Proposes Retirement Expansion
The article discusses the efforts of the Contractual Committee within the Lebanese Public Administration Employees Union to demand their retirement rights. It announced the preparation of a draft law to expand and amend Law No. 49 on pensions to include all categories of contractors and employees, ensuring their social and retirement rights and preserving their years of service in the public sector. The committee emphasized that this initiative is part of a collaborative effort and coordination with the union, aiming to achieve justice and equality in rights, address existing disparities, and pass the legislation through legal channels. The importance of unity and responsible action to realize these goals was also highlighted. The statement pointed out that the issue concerns the rights and dignity of contractors and employees, not just an individual or sectional matter. The current phase requires serious follow-up and responsible legislative efforts to safeguard the future of employees who have dedicated many years of service to the state.
