Cyprus proposes new EU mission in Lebanon
Cyprus has offered to host a Operations and Training Center to support the new European mission in Lebanon. This initiative comes as part of the European Union's support for Lebanese security institutions. Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides affirmed that Cyprus's geographical proximity and close relations with Lebanon qualify it for this role, noting that the "Cyclops" security center, established in collaboration with the United States, has trained personnel from 50 countries so far. Cyprus is ready to leverage its capabilities to serve the European mission.
