Israeli Firm Accused of Espionage via Ads
According to reports from my research group, the Israeli advertising company "Discover-Tech" has been spying on internet users through a vast network of digital ads. They tracked individuals and used malicious software to target users' devices and block access to sensitive information. Malicious ads were deployed across hundreds of sensitive networks, including government websites and security companies, reaching a peak of over 10 million ads displayed daily worldwide, impacting hundreds of millions of people. Additionally, these violations involved targeting government officials, international organizations, and tech companies, leading to breaches of devices within Al Jazeera's network and other networks. Some major companies, such as Google and Comcast, have suspended their dealings with "Discover-Tech" following warnings about policy violations, while evidence suggests that this activity poses a wide-scale threat to users’ privacy and security.
