Surveillance Targets Al-Tayyar and Al-Quwat Officials
The article focused on clandestine surveillance operations targeting officials of the Free Patriotic Movement and the Lebanese Forces in Zahle, particularly within the context of cooperation between Lebanese and Syrian intelligence during Syria's occupation of Lebanon. It emphasized that Lebanese opposition figures to the occupying authority, such as supporters of Michel Aoun and the Lebanese Forces, were among the primary targets of monitoring and espionage activities, conducted at the request of Syrian officials, with the aim of gathering information about their activities and threatening their security. The book provides testimonies revealing the extent of the wiretapping and targeting of these officials, especially in the Zahle area, which is seen as a vital geographic and political bridge between Mount Lebanon and the Beqaa Valley.
