LF Responds to The Party's Complaint Against Mouwad
The article reveals the dissatisfaction of political sources with the complaint filed against Lebanese Ambassador to Washington, Nada Hamadeh Maawad, due to her communication with the Israeli ambassador in the United States. The sources consider this step a violation of the principle of diplomatic immunity and an encroachment on the constitutional authorities in Lebanon, especially amid the country's ongoing political and security challenges. They emphasize that the judiciary has not transferred the complaint to an investigation, and that the American stance opposes targeting the ambassador because of her official duties. There is concern that this issue could undermine the state's prestige and turn diplomatic work into a battleground for political interests.
