Yemen Crisis Deepens as Food Scarcity Grows
A report from the British newspaper "The Guardian" states that the Yemeni city of Taiz is experiencing a rapid deterioration of living conditions, as Houthi forces advance towards the city and cut off supply routes. This has led to shortages of food supplies and a sharp increase in prices. Residents are stockpiling basic items and moving between shops in search of necessities. The ongoing fighting has resulted in the city being besieged from all sides. Taiz, the third-largest city in Yemen, has become the heart of clashes between the Houthis and government forces, with concerns that it may eventually fall due to the Houthis' swift progress and the rugged terrain, which could isolate Aden from the rest of the regions. Life inside the city has come to a standstill, with schools and institutions closed, while residents suffer from soaring prices and increasing economic burdens caused by the continuous siege and fighting.
