Qablan: Mistakes on resistance equate to wartime declarations
The senior Jaafari mufti, Sheikh Ahmad Qattan, spoke during Friday’s sermon about the importance of maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty and territorial unity. He emphasized that any mistake in dealing with the resistance constitutes a declaration of a existential war against Lebanon. He clarified that the Lebanese resistance, which liberated the country and defends its sovereignty, represents a legitimate national force that protects Lebanon from external threats, and any attack against it is considered a threat to national security and sovereignty. He also warned of a project aimed at fragmenting Lebanon to serve external interests, particularly American and Israeli, stressing the necessity of national solidarity and calling for an end to policies that pit the country against itself. He underscored that any misstep by the resistance risks bringing destruction and existential danger to Lebanon.
