Heavy rains hit the city of Istanbul, Turkey, leading to a severe disaster that resulted in the death of four people, the disappearance of four others, flooding in streets and tunnels, debris carried away by the floodwaters, as well as the closure of main roads and a halt in traffic. Record rainfall levels were recorded, the highest in the city in 84 years, reaching 273 kilograms per square meter, surpassing historical November averages. The floods caused fatalities and injuries due to drowning and electrocution. Authorities received thousands of reports and deployed rescue teams, utilizing more than 2,300 vehicles and 8,600 personnel to address the aftermath. Efforts are ongoing to recover and reopen roads.
