Free Patriotic Movement Demands Clear Roadmap
The leader of the Free Patriotic Movement, MP Gebran Bassil, emphasized the importance of implementing a clear plan regarding the Lebanese weapon file. He called for a transparent roadmap that includes specific phases, guarantees, and defensive agreements, linking the withdrawal of the Israeli occupation to the protection of Lebanon and the strengthening of the army. He rejected arbitrary decisions and directly placed responsibility on the government and the army. He clarified that there is a significant disagreement with Hezbollah over critical options, but this does not negate their Lebanese identity or their respect for the people's pain. He stressed that addressing the weapon issue must be achieved through national consensus, and that the disarmament and Israeli withdrawal require the implementation of a clear plan connected to achieving sovereignty and policies that protect Lebanon.
