France Endures Severe Unrest
A report indicates that France is experiencing its worst unrest in years due to protests over rising prices and declining public services. The demonstrations have resulted in the death of a protester from a heart attack in Paris and hundreds of police officers being injured, with around 1,800 people arrested across various cities. Peaceful protests have escalated into violence, with fires set and stores looted, and police facing fierce clashes. This comes a month after protests initially sparked by school conditions and a shortage of teachers, which expanded to include opposition to inequality and rising living costs. Tensions are expected to continue ahead of the presidential elections scheduled for next year.
