October 13 Memorial Highlights Unity
On the anniversary of October 13, 1990, the Free Patriotic Movement reaffirmed that it is a cross-sectarian national project aimed at unity and sovereignty. This was expressed through activities that brought together Muslims and Christians, as well as individuals from different geographical areas and sects. The political messages conveyed emphasize that Lebanon is one homeland focused on national memory and sovereign issues, and not defined by sectarian or regional lines. This commemoration takes place amid protests against the Movement's stances, especially in Akkar. It was emphasized that differing opinions do not turn national belonging into sectarian conflict, and that the Movement's continued presence depends on resilience, working among the people, and dedicating to a comprehensive national project.
