Who is acquiring sovereignty
The article addresses the liberation of the relationship between authority and freedom in the context of rising technological and economic influence. It promotes the idea that sovereignty is no longer confined to the state and is not solely about safeguarding strategic interests, advocating instead for reducing reliance on official institutions and increasing dependence on major corporations. It also highlights specific developments such as economic zone projects between Lebanon and Israel, along with specialized legal systems that allow companies to manage these areas. The focus is on the shift of sovereignty from the traditional concept of exercising rights within the state to the ability to operate outside of it. This raises questions about the future of the military and national security, as well as the transfer of power from the state to corporations—especially as dependence on technology and economic monopolies grows, potentially at the expense of democracy.
