Rubio: Trump willing to act to resolve Ukraine conflict
U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio confirmed that President Donald Trump is open to all possible measures to help end the conflict in Ukraine. He announced that Trump has suspended the activation of new sanctions against Russia for 60 days, pending the results of negotiations between Russia and Ukraine, with a focus on the need for the parties to prioritize ending the war. He also mentioned that the United States has not stopped sharing intelligence with Ukraine, and that discussions are ongoing about the possibility of a trilateral meeting between American, Russian, and Chinese leaders on the sidelines of the APEC summit in China. Rubio emphasized that Trump believes Ukraine needs a leader capable of negotiating with Russia, and that he is monitoring the current talks to see if they could prevent another year of conflict.
