Washington pressures Beirut over Hezbollah
Lebanese sources reveal the implementation of extraordinary security measures by the Lebanese Army in Beirut and its suburbs, coinciding with American and Western warnings about the possibility of Hezbollah becoming involved in an regional conflict between Israel and Iran. The measures include increasing the army's presence, tightening control over border crossings, and imposing control over illegal armed appearances, with the aim of preventing Hezbollah from opening a military front amid potential escalation. This is part of international pressure to control arms and avoid security escalation aimed at Lebanon, while analyses warn that the state may be unable to completely prevent Hezbollah from intervening if the regional war were to expand.
