Netanyahu shares video of support call with Trump
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu released a video of a phone call with U.S. President Donald Trump, carrying a strong message of support from the latter ahead of the Israeli elections scheduled for October 27, 2026. During the call on Sunday, Trump predicted a sweeping victory for Netanyahu, describing him as Israel's "best friend," and reaffirmed their cooperation to definitively eliminate the Iranian threat. This comes after a period of hesitation by Trump to support Netanyahu, especially following a public clash in June, and his backing of him during the election campaign focused on addressing the results of Hamas attacks and achieving security and political stability in Israel. Trump's support bolsters Netanyahu's position in a crucial election, which serves as a test of his popularity, particularly amid criticism of his handling of the October attacks.
