Iran ramps up Strait of Hormuz actions
The Washington Post reported that Iran is stepping up its attacks in the Strait of Hormuz in the coming weeks as part of political pressure on U.S. President Donald Trump ahead of the midterm elections scheduled for November, aiming to damage his electoral campaign. Sources indicate that Tehran is seeking to exert maximum pressure through an escalation of attacks, while U.S. forces are carrying out extensive operations to monitor and protect ship movements in the area, where Iranian attacks averaged about 30 incidents per week in the previous September.
