Walid Jumblatt criticizes south's abandonment
The article includes statements by the leader of the Progressive Socialist Party, Walid Jumblatt, regarding the political and security situation in Lebanon. He emphasized that Lebanon lacks real leverage in the face of the escalating international conflict over the region, with Israel and America exerting efforts to use Lebanon as a tool in regional disputes, while Lebanon remains without effective means of influence. Jumblatt also criticized the May 17, 1983 agreement, describing it as better than the current framework agreement, warning that the current situation could lead to an expansion of the conflict. He underscored the need for a truce and the possibility of amending agreements, affirming that the losses would be severe if escalation continues.
