Lebanon Asked Iran for New Ambassador
The Lebanese Deputy Prime Minister, Tarek Mitri, confirmed that Israel has not yet carried out the gradual withdrawal agreement from Lebanese territory. He also noted that Israel has refused to allow the Red Cross to visit Lebanese prisoners and to provide lists of their names. He pointed out that Israel has exploited the negotiations to try to demonstrate an alliance with Lebanon against Hezbollah, which has not yet agreed to limit weapons to the Lebanese state. Additionally, Israel conditions the disarmament of Hezbollah on its withdrawal from Lebanese territories, placing Lebanon in a difficult position. On the diplomatic front, he affirmed that Lebanon has requested Iran to appoint a new ambassador, and that Syria has conveyed that it has no intention of intervening in Lebanese affairs. Furthermore, a new batch of Syrian prisoners will be repatriated soon. He also explained that the decision to prevent Iranian aircraft from landing in Beirut was made to protect the airport from Israeli targeting. International aid is linked to implementing reforms, restricting weapons, and gaining control over the decision of war and peace.
