National Gathering Reaffirms Unity
The secretariat of the "National Meeting" in Lebanon held its second national gathering, which saw broad participation from political parties, parliamentarians, former and current ministers, spiritual authorities, religious scholars, party leaders, and civil society figures from various regions. The purpose was to promote dialogue and consensus on critical national issues. The final statement emphasized that this gathering reflects the need to unite efforts in facing Lebanon’s challenges, especially regarding the country’s sovereignty, the liberation of occupied territories, the implementation of the Taif Agreement, and the reinforcement of the role of the state and its institutions. It also highlighted the importance of continuing consultations and working to translate recommendations into practical steps that serve the higher national interest, within an ongoing process of dialogue and national reconciliation.
