Pope Leo's doctor reports treatment update
The health condition of Pope Leo XIV is considered positive following a successful surgical procedure to remove a cancerous tumor from his right lung. Tests revealed that the tumor was a type of lung adenocarcinoma and was confined to a specific area without spreading to other parts of the body. The surgery, which lasted approximately 90 minutes, was successful, and doctors confirmed that no additional treatment is currently necessary, with ongoing medical follow-up to monitor his condition. The Pope was discharged from the hospital six days after the operation and has gradually begun resuming his official activities, with his recovery progressing well after the removal of part of his lung.
