Lebanon Prepares for Daylight Saving Time
Lebanon officially begins observing winter time overnight between Saturday and Sunday, as the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers issued a memo to delay the clock by 60 minutes starting from midnight on Saturday, October 24, 2026. With this shift, the clock changes from 12:00 to 11:00 PM, giving Lebanese people an extra hour of sleep early Sunday morning. The goal of this change is to synchronize activity hours with natural daylight, since the sun rises and sets earlier during winter, helping to make better use of daylight and affecting the circadian rhythm. Reduced exposure to sunlight may increase feelings of fatigue and cause mood changes. The winter time will be in effect until March 28, 2027, when Lebanon will switch back to summer time.
