Brent crude surpasses $116 amid supply issues
The price of a barrel of Brent crude oil rose to exceed $116, marking its highest level in five months, amid ongoing disruptions to global oil supplies. This comes amidst deteriorating security conditions in production regions and geopolitical tensions that are reducing supplies, sparking concerns about continued price increases. The U.S. Department of Energy announced that it will allow the withdrawal of 400,000 barrels from the oil reserve to address market challenges, aiming to stabilize prices and meet global demand.
