At 8 p.m., Lebanon’s General Security detained a Syrian national who had arrived from Accra, after monitoring him from the aircraft to the customs checkpoint at Beirut Airport. His two bags were found to contain 40 packages of cocaine, each weighing one kilogram, along with electronic “AirTag” tracking devices inside the parcels. The case was referred to the competent judicial authorities, while investigations continue to uncover the network’s operations and arrest the remaining suspects.
