Minieh Detention Unrest
An attempt to impound a motorcycle at a security checkpoint in Arman escalated into tensions after a young man and a woman fell off the bike, leaving the woman with a head injury, according to residents. Security forces detained the father and his children after an altercation, while a widely circulated video showed a member of the security forces being insulted and threatened over the incident. Residents gathered outside the Minieh Serail, demanding the detainees’ release, and blocked the road in both directions amid attempts to storm the headquarters.
