U.S. President Donald Trump announced that the United States had carried out what he described as “limited strikes” against Iran, saying they were achieving results. He stressed that Washington was continuing negotiations with Tehran and that preventing Iran from acquiring a nuclear weapon remained a top priority. His remarks came after reports of explosions on Qeshm Island, which said that two missiles or shells had hit the island. There was no official information about damage. The Iranian military announced that it had shot down a U.S. MQ-9 drone over the island, while U.S. sources said Trump preferred to give diplomatic efforts more time.
