Syrian singer Asala Nasri burst into tears during a rehearsal for her upcoming concert in Dubai after becoming emotional while singing “Sunduq” (“Box”) and being unable to finish the song. Her husband, Iraqi poet Faiq Hassan, came over to comfort her. Fans linked her tears to the theft of her jewelry box from her hotel room in Detroit after a concert she performed on October 31, even though the article clarified that the song was what had moved her. Asala said the loss had saddened her because the belongings held memories and sentimental value, including items connected to her father and gifts from her husband, children, and friends.
