The Al-Ghazala Cinema Lab will be screening the Palestinian documentary film "Dreams of Exile," directed by Mai El-Masri, at Bayt Ali Qanna Culture House in Cairo, in collaboration with Kul Al-Nas Club, on Saturday evening, July 4, 2026, free of charge. The film sheds light on the Palestinian refugee experience through the lives of two girls—one in Shatila Camps in Lebanon and the other in Dahiya Camp in Palestine—offering an overview of the reality faced by a generation of Palestinians living in marginalization and exile amidst significant historic events such as the Lebanese south liberation and the Al-Aqsa Intifada. Mai El-Masri is considered one of the most prominent Palestinian filmmakers, dedicating her works to issues related to women and Palestinian memory. This screening is part of efforts to promote independent and documentary cinema culture and to foster discussions on humanitarian and social issues.
