Putin and Trump discuss Ukraine and Iran for 85 minutes

The Kremlin reported that a phone call between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump lasted 85 minutes, making it one of the longest conversations between them since Trump's return to the White House at the beginning of 2025. The call covered important issues such as the war in Ukraine, the Iranian situation, and bilateral relations, during which Putin briefed Trump on Russia's military progress in Ukraine. Trump expressed his readiness to support a peaceful resolution, emphasizing ongoing coordination between the two countries despite international disagreements. This conversation comes within the context of an effort to keep communication channels open between the two nuclear powers despite global tensions.
