The Asian Football Confederation announced that the 2027 AFC Asian Cup finals in Saudi Arabia have been postponed. They will now take place from December 23, 2027, to January 21, 2028, instead of January 7 to February 5, 2027. The decision followed consultations with the organizing bodies amid regional circumstances, travel disruptions, and logistical challenges. The revised dates are to be submitted to FIFA for approval. Organizing Committee Chairman Yasser Al-Misehal affirmed that Saudi Arabia is ready and that preparations are continuing in accordance with the approved plans.
