The Sudanese army regained control on Thursday of the areas of Kazgeil and Abu Qaud in North Kordofan State after clashes with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), military sources said. They added that the RSF suffered casualties and lost equipment. Reports said the army had advanced and taken control of other areas in Kordofan, including al-Hamadi, al-Dibibat and Shushaya. Kazgeil and Abu Qaud lie about 45 kilometers south of El Obeid, along a supply route to South Kordofan. Meanwhile, the RSF announced that it had taken control of the area of Bakori in the Blue Nile region. The army command made no official comment on the announcement.
