Tanger Med halts 48kg cocaine smuggling
The Customs and Security team at Tangier Med Port successfully thwarted an attempt to smuggle 48.3 kilograms of cocaine, carefully concealed inside the refrigeration compartment of a container coming from Rio Grande Port in Brazil. The drugs were discovered after scanning the container with an imaging device and conducting a thorough inspection, during which the substance was found hidden alongside an electronic tracking device (GPS). This operation is part of ongoing efforts to combat drug trafficking networks and organized transnational crime.
