African Hadith Finals
The third edition of the Mohammed VI Foundation of African Oulema’s Prophetic Hadith Competition got underway in Rabat via videoconference and will run for three days. It brings together 123 male and female contestants from 48 African countries. Participants are competing in three categories: memorizing 40 hadiths on the signs of Prophethood; 30 hadiths on the noble characteristics of the Prophet, with explanations of unfamiliar words; and 30 hadiths on the Prophet’s distinctive qualities, along with knowledge of the principles of hadith terminology. The competition aims to deepen young Africans’ understanding of the Prophet’s Sunnah and life, and to promote the values of coexistence, compassion and moderation.
