The decision issued by the Minister of Youth, Culture, and Communication, Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, restricts several historic landmarks in Nador, including the Slaoui Kasbah and the former municipal building of Nador, in order to preserve the architectural and historical identity of the area. The restrictions also cover the Basil Fortress, the Safsaf Fortress, the Tizi Taghilaast defenses, the Gassa site, Spanish iron ovens, and the Efrie Nammar cave. Any changes to the overall appearance of these landmarks are prohibited, and specific procedures for restoration or rehabilitation are mandated, requiring prior notice to the relevant authorities at least six months in advance. This decision aims to protect the cultural and collective heritage of the Rif region.
