The Spanish right-wing party Vox organized a preliminary screening of a documentary film in the Madrid Parliament about the Al Hoceima landing carried out by Spanish forces in 1925 against the Rif resistance led by Mohamed Ben Abdelkrim El Khattabi. The film addressed the impact and military history of the landing operation and was regarded by the party as an act of historical justice, while also referencing legislative initiatives to mark the centenary. The event sparked widespread debate within the parliament over the colonial past of the Rif region.
