Can a woman be both Muslim and feminist
The article discusses the role of Muslim women and women's activism in Turkey, highlighting Khadija Kubra, a 36-year-old English professor who joined the "Hafla" association in 2018. Hafla is considered Turkey's first Muslim feminist organization. Its goal is to support Muslim women and challenge patriarchal interpretations of religion, such as justifications for child marriages, through studies and initiatives that focus on economic reasons and fears related to relationships outside of marriage. Feminists in Turkey believe that feminism does not conflict with religion, and that advocating for women's rights can take many forms, including the right to wear the hijab.
