Security measures after young man's death
The local authorities in the Rass El Maa community in the Nador province issued a ban on swimming in the rocky area of "Liroshi" following repeated drowning incidents, including a recent death of a young man. The decision was put into effect through the deployment of security personnel and the closure of entrances, aiming to protect swimmers as the summer season approaches and temperatures rise, despite the absence of safety equipment and continuous monitoring. The decision has sparked a local debate about the possibility of developing the site in the future to make it safe for tourism use.
