Spanish report warns of new drug routes near Ceuta
The Spanish police's Organized Crime and Drug Enforcement Unit revealed the likelihood that an organized criminal network is building a "third tunnel" for smuggling hashish between Morocco and Ceuta, aimed at facilitating the flow of large quantities of drugs into Ceuta and then into Spain. Investigations showed that the project was already in progress before its discovery, with advanced engineering plans and nearly 40 meters remaining to complete the tunnel. The network relies on a complex underground infrastructure and sophisticated logistical tools. The network had previously been linked to the discovery of two tunnels in the area, and investigations confirm that its goal is to control the hashish smuggling market and establish a near-monopolistic system.
